Quadcopter Crash and Burn – grass catches fire

Nothing extraordinary about the crash – probably could’ve recovered if I put the throttle on sooner. However, one of the esc’s kept trying to start up and over heated. Not sure why it did this.

Watch me build a quadcopter! The frame is the Armattan Armadillo and the flight controller is the Omnibus F3 All-In-One.

In this section, I connect the flight controller, camera, video transmitter, and receiver. This section has some good tips for figuring out the pinout of your flight controller. 4s 100 MPH Quadcopter (182 kmh / 113 mph) w/ Brotherhobby Tornado T2 2300kv

There was a person on a powered parachute flying around so I stayed high in altitude to avoid hitting him. Main view is from an SJ cam mounted sideways and the OSD view is from an HMDVR hooked up to the eachine EV800.

Also: Very frustrating to have the speed on the OSD freeze. At times it goes to 0 kmh (apparently when the quad is near vertical and the GPS antenna is not pointed at the sky(???)). I will end up going to minim OSD eventually.

This is the third flight using Brotherhobby Tornado T2 2206 2300kv motors. First couple batteries could hardly handle the amp draw since these motors are brutal on batteries. Winds were calm to 5mph. Very surprised to hit these speeds while lugging around a Go Pro sized camera. Run Times lasted between 3.5 to 4 minutes. I tried various props including HQ 5040 x 3 and Gemfan 5050 x 3, but the same trend continues that the HQ 5045 x 2 are the fastest.
