October 14-16, 2011, the Roswell Flight Test Crew attended Northwest SARCon, a search and rescue conference held in the midst of the wilderness and the alpine villages that surround Mt. Hood — the most-climbed mountain in North America.
The conference combines extensive classroom learning opportunities with hands-on field exercises in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The crew captured aerial video of training that included shallow water crossing techniques, K9 trailing, 4×4 off-road vehicle operations, whitewater safety and survival, as well as a hover/hoist demonstration by a U.S. Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter.
